BIOMORPHISM

Biomorphism is both a logic and an aesthetic of form: continuous curvature, structural patterning, differentiated thickness, and smooth transitions.
From the depths of the oceans to the alchemies of the atmosphere, dark shapes observes, abstracts and simulates natural processes, to create objects that dissolve the boundaries between natural and artificial, digital and material.
3D PRINTING
Every dark shapes frame is 3D printed in Digital Acetate, a manufacturing process that materialises geometries unattainable through conventional production while directly translating computational design into physical form.
The technology also enables on-demand manufacturing, limited editions and one-off pieces, reducing waste by eliminating the need for large production runs and inventory.
FILIPPO NASSETTI
dark shapes was founded and is directed by Filippo Nassetti, designer and multimedia artist. Originally from Italy and based in London, Filippo has spent the past two decades developing a body of work at the intersection of computational design, new media and emerging technologies.
Internationally recognised for using computation as a medium to redefine the human body and its extensions, his practice translates research into expressive objects that merge biomorphic form and material innovation, embodying an ethos of continuous experimentation.
